Reason behind Sydney business owners huge Woolies spree

A Sydney man left viewers stunned when he shared a video of his massive chocolate haul to social media — but there’s a reason behind his shopping spree.

Posting to TikTok, the Woolies shopper revealed how he spent more than $1,000 on just one type of chocolate from the retail store.

The clip, which has been viewed more than shows him loading boxes full of Kinder Bueno bars into two trolleys with the text over the video saying, “No more Bueno at Woolies,” and a laughing emoji.

It then shows a shot of the total bill at the cash register, setting him back a whopping $1,093.

He also added that he bought up all the Kinder Buenos at a nearby Coles in Hurstville.

However, while one would assume the man has one very sweet tooth, he explained the reason for his chocolate spree was nothing of the sort.

The business owner, who runs Calvin Crepes from a food truck in Sydney, explained he was left with no other choice but to stock up on the chocolate due to supply issues amid the pandemic.

“No stock cause of Covid at the moment,” he told viewers who asked the reason behind his big spend.

Some TikTokers suggested he try wholesalers, but the owner responded: “Not in this Covid age.”

The food truck is popular for its selection of crepes, waffles and milkshakes using chocolates including Nutella, Mars Bars, Toblerone and, of course, Kinder Buenos.

Many were left blown away by the crepe-maker’s clip, attracting hundreds of comments since it was shared just three days ago.

“Wow omg you guys spent a lot. I’m coming now!!!” one viewer wrote.

“No way you spent a grand,” a second person said, while a third joked, “That’s where they went.”

One person asked the business owner if he makes “that revenue back”, to which he responded, “nope”, with a thumbs down emoji.

Others were keen to visit the food truck and help support small business during these tough times.

“I screenshot your address for the next time I am in Sydney, I’m from NZ,” one woman wrote.
