Larry & Richie Carver: Did They Kill Ryan Waller & His Girlfriend?

Publish date: 2024-06-13

Larry & Richie Carver are accused of Killing Ryan Waller and his girlfriend. Let’s discover how.

Larry Carver visited Ryan Waller’s home on December 23, 2006, with his son Richie to exact revenge over an alleged confrontation.

They opened fire on Ryan and his girlfriend and left, thinking there wouldn’t be any witnesses. But Ryan didn’t pass away.

Richie Carver put his arm through the doorway of the house and shot Mr. Waller in the head, leaving him for dead while the Carvers tried to break through.

Then, probably because Heather Quan was a witness, the Carvers broke into the house and shot and killed her. A computer and numerous more firearms were also taken from his home.

Waller was still conscious when Phoenix Police Department officers arrived.

He was taken to the hospital, where a portion of his brain was removed, and he suffered the loss of his left eye due to the gunshot wound.

Later, the detectives discovered that Waller had shared a home with Richie Carver.

Richie Carver was found guilty in June 2008 of felony murder, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and misconduct with a firearm and given a natural life sentence.

The case against Larry Carver was eventually dropped after his wife claimed her right to use her marital privilege and declined to testify against him. The case against him was partly based on confessions he made to her.

The family of Heather Quan then petitioned the government to pass “Heather’s Law,” which altered the status of marital privilege to require a defendant’s spouse to testify.

Larry Carver was reindicted in November 2011 for First-Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Burglary, and Aggravated Assault following a legal dispute over whether the law could be applied retrospectively to his case.

The jury deliberated for two and a half days following the ten-day trial before finding the defendant guilty on all counts.

Richie was found guilty and given a life sentence in jail in 2008. Additionally, Larry Lloyd Carver was convicted of being responsible for the murder of Heather Quan on a number of counts.

Judge Susanna Pineda reindicted Larry Carver on January 25, 2013, and he was found guilty of aggravated assault, burglary, first-degree murder, and attempted first-degree murder.

What Happened To Ryan Waller & His Girlfriend?

On December 23, 2006, Larry Carver and his son Richie went to Ryan Waller’s home to exact retribution as Ryan and his girlfriend Heather Quan were enjoying a calm evening at their apartment.

Ryan Waller had to investigate a strange knock on the door to see who it might be. The Carvers pulled a gun and pointed it towards Waller as soon as the door was broken open.

When Ryan Waller pushed against the door to try to stop Carver and his son Richie from entering the house, he was shot in the face, rendering him unconscious.

Then, probably because Heather Quan was a witness, the Carvers entered the apartment and shot her in the head. Larry Carver and his son searched the apartment and escaped with firearms and a computer, but Waller was still alive.

Waller, too died after surviving several injuries. His death was also police negligence.
